BERBERICH DEBRA ANN (NEE SMITH), 62, of Troy, Michigan passed away February 3rd, 2014. She was born to the late Nettie (Labadie) and Robert Smith, September 19th, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan. Debra graduated from Cousino High School in 1969 and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wayne State University in 1981. Debra spent most of her life in southeast Michigan; she also lived in London for two years, Zürich for three years, and Paris for three years. Debra will be remembered for being full of life, compassion, knowledge, and love for her family. Debra is survived by her husband, Daniel Berberich, and her two daughters, Gillian and Jeanette Berberich. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Beverly) Smith and his four children: Theresa (Mark) Bacchian, Amy (Jerry) Anderson, Robert Smith, and Kevin Smith. Survivors include Carole, his wife of fifty years; sisters Carol (Robert) Warren and Janet Keller; other relatives and many friends. Loving father of Brian (Anna) Keller and Linda (Luke) VanGosen. Proud grandfather of Thor and Wade Keller, Brandon and Ethan VanGosen. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Norbert and Marguerite Keller, he moved to the Detroit area exactly 50 years ago. He worked in engineering at Cadillac Motor Car Division for twenty years, followed by seventeen additional years for General Motors and Delphi Automotive. Retiring from Delphi as General Director of Quality, he was a disciple of Dr. W. Edwards Deming's philosophy of management. Norb earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University, and a Master of Science in Management from the Stanford University Sloan Program. A lifelong learner, his love of travel and new experiences took him, along with Carole, to all fifty states, much of Canada, and throughout the world. Since retiring, he was an automotive history tour guide with Preservation Wayne, reader for Reading for the Blind and Dyslexic, and most recently, a facilitator with SMART Recovery. PRAUSE HELEN LUCILLE (NEE BAKER) 98, born in southern Illinois, was the oldest of five children of Dr. Joseph R. and Anna Mae (Sprague) Baker. She has one surviving brother, Joseph Baker of West Australia, along with numerous nieces and nephews and one special niece, Nena (Phil) VerBurg of Benzonia, Michigan. She will be sorely missed by her family. Retiring after working for the Uni-Royal Tire Company for 30 years, she and her husband moved to Port Richey, Florida in 1976 where she lived until returning to Michigan in 2010.
